The wind ensures this is always a great place to fly a kite, and at weekends the sky is often full of hang gliders and paragliders. Walking and Cycling  The surrounding area to Cumberwell is a for cycling and walking. The Macmillan way www.macmillanway.org runs down the lane right outside of the cottages. Where you will find walks along footpaths, bridleways, rivers and the Kennet and Avon Canal, with numerous cafes and pubs en route!

If you want to bring the bikes with you then there is a cycleway along the Kennet and Avon Canal which forms part of the larger "Wiltshire Cycleway." You can rent bikes from www.thelockinn.co.uk/ for a ride along the canal.
